Biblical literacy is our passion—not just learning more about God, but learning to know Him better! We believe the Scriptures are given by God to show us how to have a relationship with Him and man. Our desire is to study the Bible in practical ways that both deepen our relationship with Him and inspire us to make Christ known to others!
We strive to achieve balance in our class ministry by also focusing on the other key areas of the Christian life: prayer, fellowship, and outreach. We are committed to demonstrating love, devotion, and caring for each other. With an active prayer coordinator, Connection Groups, and regular social events, we strive to minister to the entire person. Come be a part of our biblical literacy class and deepen your walk with God!
Our biblical literacy class began in 2003 with a vision to complete an overview of the entire Bible. Three short, exciting years later we saw the fulfillment of our dream. Since then, we have also completed a two-year study on “Church History Literacy”, designed to explore the foundation of the church and how it relates to us and the church as we know it today.
In 2008 we began our current study “Paul, His Life and Teachings”. The Apostle Paul had the privilege of taking God's message of salvation in Christ from Jerusalem to the outer reaches of the Roman Empire. In the process, Paul wrote almost half of the New Testament books, teaching and edifying the Church as he explained the message of Christ and the cross. Join us as we journey through Paul's life looking at the man, the message, and the ways God used him to build the church.
The biblical literacy class is taught by our own Mark Lanier. Mark is a practicing attorney who also holds a B.A. in Biblical Languages from David Lipscomb University. He is both a committed student of Scripture and an excellent communicator of its truths. Mark is assisted by our Class Coordinator and Staff Liaison, Louis Miori. We are thrilled to be a part of the Maturity and Ministry efforts of Champion Forest Baptist Church, a dynamic church located in Houston, Texas.
