Biblical literacy is our passion—not just learning more about God, but learning to know Him better!
We believe the Scriptures are given by God to show us how to have a relationship with Him and man. Our desire is to study the Bible in practical ways that both deepen our relationship with Him and inspire us to make Christ known to others!
We strive to achieve balance in our class ministry by also focusing on the other key areas of the Christian life: prayer, fellowship, and outreach. We are committed to demonstrating love, devotion, and caring for each other. With an active prayer coordinator, Connection Groups, and regular social events, we strive to minister to the entire person. Come be a part of our biblical literacy class and deepen your walk with God!
Our biblical literacy class began in 2003 with a vision to complete an overview of the entire Bible. Three short, exciting years later we saw the fulfillment of our dream. Since then, we have also completed a two-year study on “Church History Literacy”, designed to explore the foundation of the church and how it relates to us and the church as we know it today.
In early 2010, we completed an almost two and a half year study on “Paul, His Life and Teachings” and "Paul's Theology". With that road behind us, we have taken sight in 2010 on going back through the Bible, cover to cover, much like we did with the original Biblical Literacy series. This time, however, we intend to take a slightly different tact. Before, we were intent on finding the "core material" that would give even a novice familiarity with the Bible. This time, the effort is targeted a bit deeper. Our goal is to present and study together material that would be appropriate for study if a survey-type class on a seminary level.
We are thrilled to be a part of the Maturity and Ministry efforts of Champion Forest Baptist Church, a dynamic church located in Houston, Texas.
